grow Knoxville Selected as One of Salon Today’s Salons of the Year
Outstanding Salon Design
(June 14th, 2022, Knoxville, Tennessee) grow Knoxville announced today that it has been selected as one of Salon Today’s Salons of the Year for its outstanding salon design. grow Knoxville renovated and moved into its 5,300 square foot facility in September, 2020. A panel of editors from Salon Today, Modern Salon, and Nails evaluated each entry to select the finalists, scoring each in six different décor categories, including use of color, lighting, flooring, efficient use of space, consistency of design and overall aesthetics. grow Knoxville was selected as a Salon of Distinction for this prestigious award.

When grow Knoxville was developed with the help of architects R2R Studio, salon owner Shane Archer’s design perspective was clean and upscale, but he wanted to incorporate warm and relaxing tones to make the ambiance part of the amazing guest experience from start to finish. A mezzanine was added to the space giving the salon a second floor with separate shampoo bowls and styling stations. Archer also created a unique and separate space for the salon’s signature Lather Lounge where guests experience a calming and Zen-like experience including weighted blankets, aromatherapy, and head massages during their shampoo and other treatments. “My goal with our space was to create an environment that was like none other in Knoxville, Tennessee, “ said Archer. “It was really important to me to design a space that had the wow factor yet was inspiring and also very inviting. We feel we accomplished those goals with design of our salon, and the feedback from our clients has been overwhelmingly positive. It is such an honor to be acknowledged and rewarded by Salon Today, the leading salon industry business publication.
grow Knoxville’s space allows for the accommodation of twice the number of guests as its previous location yet feels much more open and spacious and not as cramped, adding to the enhanced customer experience. In addition, the space easily allowed for social distancing during the pandemic, which kept the salon’s doors open and the continuation of grow’s services to its clients.
