Day of Pampering for Wesley House Residents

Day of Pampering for Wesley House Residents

Wesley House & grow Knoxville partner to provide senior citizens experiencing social isolation a day of pampering.

Wesley House partnered with grow Knoxville, a Shane Archer concept, to provide members of their WISE senior citizen program with a day full of relaxation and pampering. grow Knoxville created a welcoming environment for community members to receive hair and skin care services. On Monday, November 28th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., grow Knoxville, located at 5344 Kingston Pike, donated hair and make-up services along with lunch and goodie bags for senior citizens ages 65 and older who are experiencing social isolation. The experience will be a way for both Wesley House and grow Knoxville to provide these seniors with some special attention and care.

Wesley House’s Wellness in Senior Education program, otherwise known as WISE, provides food, fellowship, and fun to our under-served senior citizens of the East Beaumont, Lonsdale, and Mechanicsville communities. WISE meets every Friday for a nutritious meal, companionship, and to play BINGO, where our seniors, or Grannies as we like to call them, compete to win household items that help alleviate financial stress. WISE works to address the marginalization and social isolation for seniors in our area, which has been exacerbated due to the ongoing pandemic. Wesley House is able to provide our Grannies with a minimum of 12 hours of socialization each month, where they are able to catch up on each other’s lives and provide one another with a sense of community, belonging, and support. “We are super excited to pamper these beautiful seniors and offer them some hair and skin care services,” said grow Knoxville owner Shane Archer. “We love working with Wesley House Community Center and having the opportunity to support their mission however we can.”

About grow Knoxville
At grow Knoxville we believe that each and every one deserves to look as beautiful on the outside as they feel on the inside. At inception, Shane Archer wanted to provide a relaxing, warm, and inviting atmosphere for our guests that makes them feel right at home, unlike the mega-salons where they feel like a cog in the machine. We focus on quality, not quantity, and value each individual guest for who they are as a person, not how much they spend. We are a green salon, recycling anything and everything down to the hair clippings. grow Knoxville has been voted Best Salon by CityView Magazine six years in a row. Our commitment to serving our community is driven through our grow Gives Back program.
